Ans :- Excessive use of fossil fuel released carbon dioxide smoke, nitrogen dioxide and sulphur dioxide in the atmosphere combine with water vapours and forming carbonic acid, nitric acid and sulphuric acid respectively. These acids then fall down on the earth surface after mixing with rain water and making it acidic. Such rain is called acid rain.
