Ans :- Human needs and wants are neither uniform in all parts of the world nor static over the years. They generally grow and become complex with the progress of change in society. In ancient times, emphasis was mainly given such as food, clothing and shelter which was derived from the natural environment. In advanced is liad on the utilisation of resources for satisfying the multifutious needs of human beings.

Ans :- Renewable resources :- 

i) Resources which can be renewed either naturally or by human efforts are known as renewable resources.

ii) Ex :- Solar energy, wind energy, Water energy, etc.

Non-Renewable resources :-

i) Resources which take million of years to form or renew are known as non-renewable resources.

ii) Ex :- Coal, Petrolium, etc.

I would prefer renewable resource because they can be replenished easily and can bed used again and again.

Sustainable Development is the need of the hours as :- 

i) Most of the resources are limited in their supply.

Ans :- Various basis of classification of resources :-

i) On the basis of renewability - The Resources which can be used again and again and never ends are known as Renewable Resources. Ex :- Sunlight, Wind Energy, Water, etc.

The Resources which take millions of years to form or renew, are known as non-renewable resources, they can be used only for one time also known as exhaustibe resources. Ex :- Coal, Natural gas, Petrolium, etc.

ii) On the basis of origin :- Resources, which are obtained from biosphere and have a life, are known as biotic resources. Ex :- Birds, Animals, Forests, etc.

All non-living resources are known as abiotic resources. Ex :- Land, Water, Minerals, etc.

iii) On the basis of occurence :- Resources, available from nature in the form of water, minerals, forests, etc. and used by human to complete their needs, called natural resources. Ex :- Water, Wood, etc.

Resources created by humans to complete their needs are known as man-made resources. Ex :- Roads, Buildings, Machines, etc.

iv) On the basis of development :- Resources, which are available in a country, which is not fully tapped are known as potential resources.

Resources of a country which have been throughly surveyed and their quantities have been ascertained, are known as actual resources.
